Mountainfilm in Telluride, a festival in its fourth decade, is dedicated “to educating and inspiring audiences about issues that matter,” and brings together filmmakers, activitsts, artists, mountaineers, visionaries, environmentalists, students, and otherwise inspirational and generally powerful characters from around the world who are concerned about affecting change and consciousness on the earth. The spectacular event is traditionally the opening festival of the summer, taking place over Memorial Day Weekend each year.
